... RICH IN INFORMATION, that is. For today I joined the library! And because this is a new borough, where I don't owe massive fines from ten years ago, the application went straight through! I wandered about like a lottery winner in a department store thinking: Any of these books could be mine!

The libraries here also have free DVD's to check out and audio books. I have belonged forever to libraries.

ReplyDeleteMelody: good. I owe my old library £35 which is about $50 in late fees. And 10 years later they still won't let me rejoin (though they gave me a free card)
ReplyDeleteSyd: we have to pay for DVDs inc. language courses. The latter thing annoyed me as music is a luxury; languages are basic like poetry, literature, things libraries are MEANT to be for...

Terminallyuniq: they are BRITISH people who love drinking heavily. It's all the rage to get mashed. E.g. on a birthday you (can be) expected to drink a "yard" of ale which is God knows how many pints... in ONE
I saw a doc featuring an American on the British (but Spanish) holiday isle of Ibiza he was hardly "narrow minded" but couldn't believe how British women behaved, esp. when drunk. They call them "ladettes"

I can't go to the library here.. I failed to return books from 11 years ago and they still have it on file. They want 25 bucks.. I just can't see handing them 25 bucks for a stupid book about bees..
