Gerbil dream

I HAD a dream last night about a kindly gerbil, who was running about our house looking cute. Then the gerbil ran into the garden, got lost, and vanished into the great green leafy yonder. Oh well. When I woke up I felt depressed because my life is still down the sewer. But full of hope, because every new day gives a chance of hauling oneself out...

Talking of gerbils, I have always envied Richard Gere. With his piggy eyes and not-particularly-distinguished appearance, I have always been left bemused as to why female breakfast TV presenters seem to find him so attractive.

And if I were an actor, the roles he's played are exactly the same as I would want to play. Very interesting career.

Having said that I would have chosen Naomi Campbell (actually no ~ I've had enough of personality disorders for one lifetime) or Linda Evangelista over Cindy Crawford any day of the week...

  2. Ugh...it makes me squirm to think about it. Urban legend, don't you think?

  3. Haha .. .I still don't know how the gerbil rumour came about! Not my type frankly but he does look better as he gets older. Men tend to do that while we just get grey and fat.

  5. LMFAO! Gleds, this is why I adore your blog and your wit :) See, I must just be that naive: I thought the gerbil reference was simply made in regard to Mr. Gere's rodent-like appearance ... never heard the urban myth that everyone's on about!! I mean, I can mentally fill in the details well enough, unfortunately. Nope, never found him attractive, but I guess if you make a guy work out sensibly enough and put him in expensive, tailored suits, he'll do.

  6. Richard Gere once agreed to put in a special appearance at Harrods and pulled out at the last minute. When the furious owner, Mohammed AlFayed came on live television to explain he said something like: "our pets department has a large selection of gerbils, perhaps he got lost in there"...

... the look on the lady reporter's face really was quite something to behold!
