African Pygmy Hedgehog

FURRY FRIDAY ON SATURDAY

I'd really like one of these

Aren't they cute?

Even cats like them

Hedgehogs aren't the exotic pets here they are in some countries, as they're very common wildlife. Everybody has seen a wild hedgehog, many people feed them with catfood:

To an actual cat they're a real curiosity and a bit too prickly for food

The hedgehogs we have in our British gardens are about two to three times larger and very commonly seen.

WISHING Y'ALL A CHARMING WEEKEND. IF IT CAN'T BE CHARMING THEN MAY IT BE TOLERABLE!

  1. Aww, aren't they cute? I am rather partial to hedgehogs. We don't have them here but when I was a kid and living in New Zealand, we had them in the garden and we used to put out saucers of bread and milk at night.

  2. Once, when i was a child, our dog brought in a hedgehog, all curled up in a ball. He was carrying it very carefully, not to hurt himself, and we had to find a box as, of course, the hedgehog was too prickly for us to carry. It was huge, like a football, quite unharmed. The dog was covered in fleas afterwards.

I'm very fond of hedgehogs and when the weather is very dry and there's not much food about, I'll put dogfood out for them. Not too good for them all the time as it's so soft it's not good for their teeth. If you want to feed them all the time, raw or cooked mince is better.

  3. apparently they are coming out of hibernation too early due to the fucked up weather. so if you spot some, put them in a box and call rspca or something, or they will die

  4. omg, that little guy is so adorable! and so is your cat!!! i would like to have a hedgehog as well, especially if it would remain merely a curiosity to my own cat!!!!

It appears that you have a hairless cat, yeah? is he a true breed... not sure what they are called... sphinx or ???? or is he just one that came out without any fur? either way, i love his markings and those eyes!!! :)

  5. Too cute! I've never seen such small ones.
How much do they go for? I understand euros.
My sister had me help her catch a bat(for a pet)
He wouldn't eat in captivity, so we released him and she was pretty sad about it. sigh...I'd love to have one of those hedge hogs too.
