Or nearly destroyed me?.....BRITAIN... sustained me? Or nearly destroyed me?...

I'm fed up of British politicians, British problems, British youth running out of control, the idiot British govt. I would rather live in another country with other problems I have to be slightly more diplomatic about because they're not MINE. Yes I have always suffered from the Grass Is Greener syndrome I accept that, but I HAVE always been treated better when abroad ~ in every country except Morocco. And I still like Morocco. No I want to leave Britain because I have felt trapped here for the last 10 years when, if I'd had any say at all in the matter, (which I didn't because of my own drug addiction), I'd have fled somewhere else years ago. Anyway, being abroad always makes one FAR more in love with home. Always has, always will... THAT is why I want to LEAVE.Gledwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09308172310486574510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8092261346236962635.post-28313203409012294212010-01-26T00:20:50.587+00:002010-01-26T00:20:50.587+00:00The grass is always greener on the other side of t...The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, as they say - but only until you get there. Unfortunately, wherever we go, we take our deluded selves with us :-(

A different country doesn't solve all our problems - we just get a different mix and some remain the same, because we're the same. The novelty soon wears off when the penny drops.

Maybe Britain would be a better place to live in if more British people showed a little patriotism and more gratitude for the good things and privileges of which they still take advantage.

"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." I think the late
President Kennedy had a valid point.

What has France ever done for you? If you go there, even with a cultivated French accent - you'll still be British. And it is Britain that has sustained you, for better or worse.

Dream on if it makes you feel better - but don't expect the "kid gloves" treatment you enjoy (yet still despise) when you're the foreigner in a land that's not your home. And don't think the "European" tag will come to your rescue either.

Strange how it's so fashionable to bad-mouth Blighty these days - yet it's such a horrible place everyone else wants to live here!!

GRATEFUL2BHEREAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8092261346236962635.post-42204015277013581312010-01-25T19:58:33.694+00:002010-01-25T19:58:33.694+00:00The Westie is cute.
