Thelma and Louise
(Click for the final shooting script...)
THIS IS ONE of the handful of films I wish I'd seen at the time of its release ... In yesterday's post I suppose I was almost apologetically blathering "I didn't realize it was such a chickflick" ... In fact, it wasn't that chick at all. They deliberately hammed up the car chase/shooting guns/etc aspects to incorporate a male cinema-going action-picture aspect -- of that I am sure ...
Two women discover their inner resourcefulness when their days are numbered and time's running out ...
And as for the "human lemmings" ending:: those girls after my own heart. That is exactly what I would have done. If I was wanted by American police I would make sure I came in dead, not alive...
(What's the point of living to "fry another day" on the infamous death-row "chair" ...?)

Ivy: in partial answer to your question:--
When I'm depressed I lie in bed all day (sleeping) to avoid people. Then I'm awake by myself all night. That is an excellent way of keeping the world a good barge-pole's length away ...

But apropos of books, rather, I must advise you to read THE RAW SHARK TEXTS by Derbyshire's young author Steven Hall: better than a snort, I assure you!
Anyway, glad Gled can speak some Franglais! Thanks for the message, mon ami...I haven't forgotten you - not at all.

Ivy you said, re my "glad it's the end of the world" remark ...
"Jesus Gled. You are glad the end is nigh??? This is making me re-think our relationship, honey buns. Just fucking kidding me.. you. I dont know.
As to the rest, at least you are honest. Is this bed-rest thing depression or are you easily spun out of the depression?"
What do mean by the last para: am I easily spun OUT of being depressed or easily spun INTO it? Or both? I don't geddit ...

100 per week isnt even a habit. That's what I would take if I were an infant!!!
I just mean, if X (imagine this is a math equation) lied in bed all day. I would imagine that the next day would be harder and harder to not lie in bed all day again, that the more time you spend feeling that bad, the harder it is to feel any better at all. So I am amazed at people who can do what X does for one day and then suddenly snap out of it and be fine the next day.
It's bad that you are depressed, but good (hopefully) that if it doesnt last long.
Yes, nighttime awake can be a very productive time.
Ive watched thelma and louise.. good movie. What was it that you were exclaiming about it though. Sometimes I think prison would be fun in some aspects.. The communal living thing, and the structure thing, and the not having to worry about the complexity of life taken care for you in some ways. The quality of the people around me though.. that I would not like.
Trust me: mental homes are much more fun than prison. You can go get a glass of water at 3am. You have tea at 7am. You can walk in and out of the smoking room at will. Prison = 23 hr bang-up in a lot of places here.
Charles the schizophrenic was sectioned to hospital for 2 years straight a few years ago. One of his friends in there said it was worse being in hospital than being in prison.
If I ever end up inside I will make sure I get the bottom bunk (to thwart stray drips) & cut my wrists and use the bedclothes to soak up the blood. So next morning they find me and I've already gone home
Seriously, hospital may be boring, but all those features/arguable advantages like having your hole life taken care of for you, you get in hospital without the nastiness of prison.
Go to hospital instead!!
Sorry, I would much rather be in a prison than a hospital... Where they force you to be on thorazine every night. Your friend is right!!
