IT'S A SLEEPY SATURDAY AUTUMNAL AFTERNOON. Now the clocks have gone back (to "natural time: GMT") it's getting dark not long after five. I know that all ye in more tropical places seem to get a 6pm sunset year round; but 5 o'clock is really early to us here - bearing in mind that in high summer it's light very late. I remember playing out till 10pm in daylight... not exactly "the land of the midnight sun" but still, a distinctly bipolar year... considering that in midwinter nightfall comes not long after 3 in the afternoon... nasty business!
I only popped in for a couple of minutes on the way to grab some robo-friendly broccoli (Baby is pinging around like nobody's business. Their tank is still ultra-clean and tidy-looking. I think she wants something to eat...)
Liz is going to post up the story of Beddgelert "Gelert [the hound's] grave"; it's a fantastic Welsh folktale.
Well I have to dash and make Sainsbury's before they sell out of value stuffed-mushroom pasta.
Cheerio folks ~
I hope a cheery weekend is being had by all.
Or if not a cheery one, then a tolerable one.
If you're feeling down, just spare a thought for how the other half live.

... it's funny what you take for granted. Like you, I loved late summer evenings as a child but forgot just how early it got dark on winter afternoons.
I heard someone describe our sudden nightfall here as pouring black molasses, because it's a short time between just getting dark and then blink, it's dark
....did marvell'st at your lines from Macbeth *!*
O! Macbeth I DID have to Google I hope you realize...
yeah nightfall takes AGES here unlike most of the rest of the world... isn't it the nearer the equator the quicker it happens? Something like that.
Your sea and sky pic looks familiar. I think I've been there!
Maybe I purloined it from you!! You never know..!
(I never know, either and that's half the point...)
